In this guide, we’ll detail exactly how to beat Magus in Guardians of the Galaxy and finally put an end to this galactic threat. Probably.
How to beat Magus in Guardians of the Galaxy
If you chose not to kneel, which you should. the first thing you need to do is run towards Nikki’s shield to avoid instant death. Once you’re safe, Magus will spawn shadow-like creatures that you’ll need to take down. They have no weaknesses and die to a few blaster shots, so nothing to worry about yet. If one of the shadow wuruums latches on to you, mash the appropriate button to get it off. Make sure to avoid the incoming purple projectiles, which have large circles on the floor that indicate where they’re going to land
Once you’ve defeated enough enemies, you’ll have the option to appeal Warlock or badger him. Choose the latter option, or otherwise face instant death, and prepare to run to Nikki’s shield again. Rinse and repeat what you did in the first phase, avoiding projectiles and killing enemies, and you’ll eventually be given the option to either “recall the good times” or confront him. Choose to confront him.
The rest of the fight is a quick-time event, which will require you to press the button indicated on-screen at the correct time to bounce the stone between the Guardians of the Galaxy. Once Star-Lord obtains the Soul Stone, he’ll try to bottle Magus. When the button prompt comes up, you’ll need to mash the respective button until the prompt disappears.

Make sure to stick around through the credits for the interactable post-credit scene and your trophy/achievement for beating the game.
