Back 4 Blood Mission List: All Acts and Chapters

Back 4 Blood is a survival horror game with roguelike elements in the mix. It brings the best of both genres, making the most out of its episodic campaign. By doing that, it has so far felt like there are a hefty amount of possibilities. The campaign is a bit on the shorter side at first glance, but make no mistake, there’s a lot more to unpack from the opening cutscene to the credits.

All Acts and Chapters in Back 4 Blood

There are a total of four acts in this game. Each one is its own instance too, meaning that they aren’t necessarily continued off of one another as you progress from act to act. When you complete Act 1, the game doesn’t automatically put you into Act 2. You will unlock subsequent acts as you progress in the story, though.

Each act has different “starting points” which is just another phrase for missions. Each starting point is divided by different episodes within. To make it more clear, the sequence goes: Acts, episodes, then starting points (missions). Here is the list of them in order.

Act 4 – The Abomination

When you dig into it this way, there are plenty of campaign missions to dive into, but they’re rather short instances with exhilarating horde battles, nail-biting moments, and comical, mature dialogue between the Cleaners. Think of each starting point as like a checkpoint in between the episodes in each act.

Besides, this game is meant to be replayed because of its convoluted card mechanic. Every run will be different and every team composition will be different. Crate, weapon, and enemy placements will be different every time.

If you intend to play this on the Recruit difficulty, you’re looking at about 6 to 9 hours of story (that is, if you don’t die along the way). It’ll definitely take longer on harder difficulties where actual strategies have to be put into motion.

Back 4 Blood is currently out for early access via the Ultimate Edition. It will be out for people who buy the Standard edition on October 12, 2021.
