Tropico 6: How to set up a sandbox game

One of the main way’s to play Tropico 6 is the sandbox mode. These are games that don’t have any particular focus and can last as long as you’d like. Setting up a sandbox game with the exact specifications can be a little tricky, but it does give you a lot of customization over your game.

The first thing that needs to be set up is your islands. You can choose a pre-made map. There are some made specifically for the sandbox mode or any of the mission maps are available. You can also randomly generate islands with a few specifications. You can select the size of your map, the size and amount of islands available and the amount of resources available.

The next step is choosing your starting conditions. Here you can select Which Era you want to start in, the size of the population and the amount of money you start with. You can choose unlimited money. You can also edit difficulties, like how aggressive your political rival will be, or how friendly the political factions will be.

Lastly, You can choose your win conditions. You can choose a winning by reaching a certain Era, The amount of Money you have, the number of tasks you’ve done, or even the number of tourists you’ve drawn to your island. You can choose any combination of these conditions or none at all if you want an open-ended game.

There really are a lot of options here so make sure to read through them carefully to craft the type of game you want to play. Once you’re done hit Start Map in the lower right-hand corner to play.
