Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – How to Activate Double XP
Like other years, the new Modern Warfare allows players to earn Double XP by purchasing Mountain Dew and Doritos products. This year, players can save up tokens that need to be activated to get Double XP in game. Redeeming the codes for Double XP and then activating them is a two-step process, we’ll take you through it here.
If you purchase a participating product for Modern Warfare you will actually need to get the codes from the items. On Dorito’s they have codes on the outside of the bag. On Mountain Dew they have codes on the inside of the cap. Regardless, you will need to head to either the Dorito’s or Mountain Dew redemption websites. From there you will be transferred to the Call of Duty website to login and enter your codes. Entering your codes in the Activision website will automatically sync them with your profile but they must be activated in the game itself.
Activating the Double XP
To activate double XP in Modern Warfare you simply need to head into the Multiplayer Menu and then enter a multiplayer lobby. Once you enter the lobby you will be able to see on the right side of the screen that you have tokens available. If you don’t have any tokens this message will not show up. The prompt will say “XP Tokens Available” and show the Left Thumbstick to view tokens. Clicking in the L3 (Left Thumbstick) button will bring up a menu on the left hand side of the screen that will show you how many different tokens you have.
Once you select a token a message will show up that confirms you’ve redeemed the code and you will have activated Double XP in Modern Warfare for the amount of time associated with the token.
